The Law of Attraction

I’ve been suspicious of The Secret for a long time. My quest for personal and professional development has taught me one thing: action towards a goal is the key factor of success.

That is why the idea of The Secret seemed so implausible to me. It seemed so fake, based on a false premise of hope versus action.

It seemed very much like a prayer. It was a shout into the wind. A prayer and not a call to action, that is how I used to view The Secret.

However, when I took the time to explore the ideas of the Law of Attraction, I became a believer. I took the time to actually read the book and not just explain away what I knew nothing about.

You see, The Secret to the Law of Attraction is about taking action because belief in oneself leads to action.

Why? The Secret is that thoughts become things.

I already believe this to be true and I devote a lot of study into the power of the mind and how it can intentionally create the outcomes of our lives. All along, The Secret has been a kindred spirit.

“All that we are is a result of what we have thought.” – Buddha

Here is the kicker. The Secret believes in more than just the power of positive thinking. That is why it is also called The Law of Attraction.

When we think positive thoughts, when we aim to intentionally create our future through our thoughts, we emit a frequency to the universe. This frequency transmits a signal to the atoms of our body, transforming them into physical substance, making them real and actionable.

Is this true? Maybe not, but The Secret tells us that we must believe in one of two things:

  1. Luck of the draw and that anything can happen to anyone.
  2. To believe and know that your life experience is in your hands and that only good can come from your life because that is the way you think.

It seems to me that I rather believe in the power of my own control. Believing in pure luck goes against the intention of creating positive life outcomes through effort and persistence.

The Outwork Way is based on the idea of effort over everything: effort is the proving ground. It is the holy grail of everything we can ever hope to achieve. Effort gives us salvation and it makes us whole.

The study of Stoicism echoes a similar mantra, that we cannot control much else except our response to external things: environment, people, and situations.

Our review of The Talent Code taught us that the development of skill is also the physical accumulation of Myelin within the brain, a substance the surrounds the axon of nerve cells. More talent and skill produces a thicker layer of Myelin, inducing a greater ability to fire nerve signals to the body.

When you believe in something strongly, you attract the conditions to achieve that positive outcome. It does not mean sitting around hoping and praying for something to appear out of nowhere. It means taking inspired action towards your goal because you believe strongly that it will come to fruition.

You will work harder. You will practice longer. The thoughts of what you aim to achieve will become things that move you into the direction of success. When obstacles present themselves, you will work through them. You will embrace the struggle and take solace in the process, diligently making progress in the obtainment of your goal.

The Law of Attraction ensures that you only emit positive signals, bringing to you the supporting elements necessary for enduring success.

Desire connects you with the thing desired and expectation draws it into your life. – Bob Proctor

Aim to achieve your goal right now. Put the end result in your mind and work towards that vision with a renewed sense of vigor that cannot be matched by the mediocrity that surrounds you.

Time means nothing to the universe, it is immense beyond measure. It will exist long after our bodies are nothing but dust, it will continue long beyond the time of humankind.

Your time is short and measured. Your consciousness is nothing more than a passing thought to the universe, but to you, it is everything.

Think at every moment, “I am the Master of my own thoughts,” and create your life intentionally.

The Secret is within you. The more you use the power within you, the more you will draw it to you. You will reach a point where you won’t need to practice anymore because you will be the power, you will be the perfection, you will be the wisdom, you will be the intelligence, you will be the love, you will be the joy.

The more you use the power within you, the more power you will draw to you.

Onward,

Chief
